Veer Narmad South Gujarat University

Veer Narmad South Gujarat University is a public university located in Surat, Gujarat established in 1967. The University is affiliated to UGC and accredited ‘B’ by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The university offers postgraduate courses in various disciplines along with non-traditional postgraduate departments such as public administration, rural studies, comparative literature and aquatic-biology.
The University has a campus spread over 210 acres. Over 3000 students study on the campus. The University has faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Management Studies, Rural Studies, Engineering and Technology, Medicine, Law and new constituted Computer Science, Homoeopathy and Architecture. The University has 79 Grant-in-aid Colleges, 146 Self-financed Colleges/institutions and 100 Post-graduate Teaching Centers attached to affiliated colleges.
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has a rich infrastructure with a vast area of 210 acres which houses 6 boys and 5 girls hostels. The University also encourages its students to participate in sports activities thus providing a high facility gymnasium and an excellent sports arena for various indoor and
outdoor sports.
The University campus also includes community centers like Bank, Restaurants, Post office and ATMs. For facility of students the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has started SMS service for student communication. The University has recently made an MOU policy with Kagoshima
University, Japan for student exchange. The Univesity also publishes a monthly news-letter for students named “Dakshinayan”.
