Vinod Gupta School of Management

The Vinod Gupta School of Management is a public business school in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1993 at IIT Kharagpur and was the first management school to be set up within the IIT system. It was initiated by a distinguished alumnus and a Life Time Fellow of the Institute, Vinod Gupta. The Campus is spread over 1800 acre of land. Currently, the Institute has been ranked the best engineering college in the country (2001, 2002 and 2003) and one of the best B-schools of the country.
It has a vast reservoir of knowledge and expertise in the highest realm of learning in science, engineering and technology. All this is available to VGSOM students in the form of elective and audit courses. Vinod Gupta School of Management provides on-campus residential accommodation facility to all its students. The halls are not exclusively for VGSOM students but are shared with IIT, Kharagpur students from other courses. These halls are managed and maintained by the Hall Management Committee.
The Vinod Gupta School of Management provides state of the art infrastructure which includes air conditioned class rooms; Wi-Fi enabled campus and all other latest facilities. Class-rooms are equipped with remote controlled LCD multimedia projectors and internet networked computer and public address system with cordless microphones.
The Institute has a fully computerized Library which contains a selected collection of over 20,000 books and reference materials. The Institute also subscribes more than 150 periodicals for the benefit of the participants, faculty. The Vinod Gupta School of Management organizes many extracurrilar activities and events which are entirely managed by students to let them have an experience of management. In Addition to these, throughout the length of the course many guest lectures are held at the campus to guide students for better career. The Vinod Gupta School of Management also provides extensive training to its students for placement and has collaborated with many Multi-national companies for campus recruitment.
