University of Southampton is a British Higher education university in Southampton, United Kingdom. The college was granted University status in 1952.
The Greenwich University specializes and focuses in the fields of engineering, mathematics, computing and natural science along with courses in management science. The University is currently providing class education to its 21,000 students in various under-graduate courses and 5,000 students enrolled in its post-graduate programs. The University is famous for its academic curriculum and activities and has won Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education in 2008.
The University also runs Medway School of Pharmacy in collaboration with The University of Kent. Greenwich University also offers research facility in streams of employment relations, fire safety, architecture, landscape architecture, natural resources, training, educational leadership, social network analysis, education, and public services.
The Greenwich University research programs are also offered in association with European Space Agency and pharmaceutical programs of research with major pharmacy companies of London. These research facilities are supported by Indian government and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Education. The University has founded Institute of Converging Arts and Sciences to overlook the development in the field of Digital technology and its progress.
The institute hosted its first conference cum symposium in October 2009 which was presented by Dame Wendy Hall. The University of Southampton has formed a network of local colleges and institutes over the years and these colleges includes- Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, Bexley College, Bromley College, Greenwich Community College, North West Kent College, Greenwich Community College, these colleges work as an alliance to work together. Guardian University Guide 2013 ranked The University of Southampton on 88th rank.
