The University of East London (UEL) is a public university located in Newham, east London, England. The University has its two campuses in Stratford and Docklands areas, with a third campus, University Square, toopen in Stratford in 2013. The University of East London gained university status in 1992. The University of East London has more than 28,000 students from 120 countries worldwide.
The University offers number of programmers and short courses at the Barking Learning Centre. Off-campus, there are students registered on programmes with UK and non-UK academic partners, such as the Women's Institute of Management in Malaysia.T third campus, Co-owned with Birkbeck College University of London It will be situated in Stratford and will deliver part-time and full-time study for graduate students. The project is the first time two higher education institutions have created a new shared building. The new building will provide shared teaching spaces for both higher education institutions and their partners.
The University of East London offers degree programmes and other courses at by one of seven teaching Schools. In addition, there are three Schools that carry out administrative roles: the School of Combined Honours, the Graduate School and UELconnect, which manages Distance & E-learning and short courses.
The University of East London School of Law and Social Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in disciplines including, law, criminology, international development, politics and NGOs, sociology, psychosocial studies, social enterprise and innovation studies. The School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering was established in 2011, it delivers undergraduate programmes in architecture, computing, construction, electrical and electronic engineering, mathematics, and product design. UEL participates in many different sports for both male and female students. The university's sports clubs participate in the British Universities and Colleges Sport leagues.
