Lowry Memorial College (formerly known as Seventh-day Adventist education college) is a self-financing, co-educational college in Bangalore, Karnataka. The Institute was established in 1915. The Institute is governed by The Seventh-day Adventist educational system. The Seventh-day Adventist educational system is the second-largest Christian school system in the world, after the Roman Catholic system.
It has a total of 7,598 educational institutions operating in over 100 countries around the world with over 1.5 million students world-wide. Lowry Memorial College is affiliated with The Bangalore University and offers under-graduate courses as Bachelor of Science (Botany, Chemistry, and Microbiology), Bachelor of Science (Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science), Bachelor in Business management (BBM), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). Along with these courses the institute also offers Diploma in Education (D.Ed.). The College has a faculty dedicated to provide quality education.
Lowry Memorial College has a rich infrastructure with latest facilities. The Institute has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. The 8 acres college campus is entirely Wi-Fi enabled, and the seminar halls and class-rooms use projectors for visual aid. The institute also has facility of online guest lecturers from anywhere in the world.
The college has a central library with 16,000 volumes, 4500 titles. The professional societies of the college are meant to facilitate the student involvement in extracurricular activities, by giving room for social welfare/community service activities and personality development and talent exposition. The College organizes many extracurricular events including the Fresher’s, Alumni Meet and Sports meet.
The institute also provides a gymnasium, a bank and ATM Facility within the college campus and a cafeteria. Lowry Memorial College runs a state-of-the-art placement cell for its student guiding them through the placement process and provides them placement offers and interviews via campus placements. The Institute has collaborated with many multi-national companies for campus recruitment.
