Life on Campus at RCE

Life on the campus of Roorkee College of Engineering is very peaceful and eventful. Firstly, set in the beautiful Uttarakhand, it is very calming and a serene place to pursue studies. Also, the campus is a strict anti-ragging zone wherein witnessing it is also a punishable offence. This makes it a very welcoming place for the new first year students as well. As there is no fear, proper attention can be given to studies and other important subjects.
The campus' cafeteria is always buzzing with excitement as it is the hub of all student activities. It is spacious and offers nutritious and hygienic meals and snacks to all those in campus as well as visitors.
As part of the personality development of the students, RCE offers many sports activities to keep the students busy. There is a basketball court, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, badminton court, football court, crickey field and athletics field and gynmasium. There are several provisions for indoor activites as well such as table tennis, carom and chess.
The campus has its very own dispensary with all the necessary daily requirements for the medical needs or emergencies on the campus. First aid is always available and there are doctors on the panel who can be contacted any time in case of need. There is a separate vehicle allocated to cater to only medical purposes. The college also provides transportation to nearby locales for the students' comfort and safety. At the moment the number of buses is small but soon will be a full-fledged fleet.
There are many social and cultural events also held on the campus from time to time. The college had a Diwali fest which had students actively participating in it to demonstrate their talents and skills besides those in academics. There are camps as well, such as an Eye Camp where free facilities were provided to those in need. There are extra-curricular activites as well such as debate competitions, quizzes, essay writing, presentation practice sessions, industrial tours, etc. all add color to the lives of the students on the RCE campus.
