Career Management Cell
By Shaheen Akhtar Khan
The Institute of Management Research and Technology believes in instilling immaculate leadership qualities, skills and traits in each and every one of its students. To do this and to meet a very important purpose of all business schools, IMRT has a Career Management Cell unlike any other! This Cell makes sure that the students are rigorously trained through a training aptly named 'The Finishing Touch'. This training has six modules and is headed by Mr. Ashok Bala Rajanan, Director-Training, Power Extreeme, Chennai. This training is a need based training and addresses all the issues students may be facing to ensure they have no obstacles to success in their professional life.
The training takes care of any problems that the students may have with self-confidence. It helps them understand verbal and non-verbal communication and its importance. The students are given intense training on how to tackle interviews wothout feeling an ounce of self-consciousness. It is very important to know the code of conduct in interviews and business meetings which is what this Cell aims to teach as well. There are many Life Skills also taught so that the students really believe in themselves and gain success unhesitatingly.
This Cell also plays a vital role in being a bridge between the prospective employers and the students. During placement, the institute makes all the arrangements necessary for the interviews. There are various pre-placement talks and workshops organised prior to the final placement so that the professionals from the industry can gauge the caliber of the IMRT-ites. After all, the most important aim of the Career Management Cell is to secure employment for the students as per their liking, aptitude and inclination.
