1. Courses Offered : They afford Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism in a Full time mode in a duration of 2 years. MASCOM offers a full-time course in print journalism, leading to the award of Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism. The course is organized in three trimesters, each of 12 weeks duration.
2. Facilities and Library : MASCOM provides state-of-the-art facilities for training in print journalism. It has a computer lab equipped with modern computers interconnected by means of Local Area Network. In addition to training in standard software such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, hands-on experience can be gained on scanners, printers, digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDA) and voice recorders.
The School has a well-stocked library. In addition, students will be provided access to the Malayala Manorama library and digital archives, subject to approval by the Director / Librarian.
3. Opportunities : The focus of the course is to maximize the employment potential of students. Accordingly, the utmost emphasis is given to hands-on training, while ensuring students acquire a solid grounding in journalism theory. The course aims at producing journalists who will become fully-functional members of the media industry in the shortest possible time.
