The collaboration between Jombo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology and Kenya Medical Research Institute has been praised for there amazing achievements. The approval has accrued from the partnership in terms of medical training and research. The Chief executive of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Kenya Medical Research Institute, Prof Mabel Imbuga and Dr. Solomon Mpoke was presented at the ceremony which was held on April 10, 2012.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Mabel Imuga commented on the partnership, that the collaboration was instrumental in the establishment at Jombo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and technology pf the institute of Tropical Medicine and Infection Diseases that was essentially charged with spearheading graduate medical training and research. The partnership also motivated the University to launch the undergraduate programmes in the various medical fields.
The Vice Chancellor commended Kenya Medical Research Institute for its outstanding strength in terms of manpower and modern medical laboratories that support the smooth implementation of the joint venture aimed at facilitating advanced training and research. Prof. Imbuga said that ITOMID has benefited upto 175 graduates who are pursuing higher studies degree at Maters and Ph.D levels in various disciplines.

Kenya needs highly skilled manpower in the area of engineering and technology.
