Jagiroad College

Jagiroad College was established in the year 1979, it is a only arts undergraduate college under Gauhati Univeristy. In the year 1986 the college has made new Science stream. There are regular classes, periodic evaluation with commitment and zeal.
The college has celebrated its silver jubilee in 2004. Jagiroad College has already made a mark in the academic scenario of the State. There are around 1400 students and 55 faculty which are always ready to help the student. Each of them has the motivation to apply imaginative methods in teaching and also the sensitivity to adapt effectively to the changing times.
The college is spread in 25 begahs of land and the campus is well maintained and well planned. The building of Jagiroad College consists of classroom, hostel, library, community function hall, information center, auditorium, canteen and lot more. The college has three blocks which are meant for the use of development and advancement of the teachers and students of the Arts Faculty . There are well equipped laboratories.
The Jagiroad college offers many courses under graduation course in sixteen disciples- English, Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Application, Travel and Tourism and lot more.
