Gharda Institute of Technology is a co-educational engineering college in Ratnagiri - Maharashtra. The Institute is approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), New Delhi and the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai, and is affiliated to University of Mumbai. UGC, New Delhi and University of Mumbai, conferred Autonomous status to K.E. Society's Gharda Institute of Technology, from Academic year 2011-2012. Shivalik Education Society's Gharda Institute of Technology was established in the year 1983 with the objective of imparting state-of-the-art technical education of the highest quality.
The Institute offers under-graduate courses as B.E. (Automobile, Civil, Computer science, Electrical, Electronics & Tele-communication, Information Technology, Mechanical engineering), along with post-graduation courses as M.E. (Automobile, Civil Structure, Computer science, Electronics, Electronics- Digital systems, Information, Mechanical design, Mechanical production, CAD/CAM/CAE, Construction & Management, Electrical engineering), and Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Gharda Institute of Technology also offers research facility and provides research programmes as Ph.D. (Civil engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical engineering). Gharda Institute of Technology also encourages students towards participation in sports and has a sports ground for cricket, volleyball, football and lawn tennis.
The College campus is also equipped with an air-conditioned Auditorium for seminars, and a Language lab. The College campus hosts many cultural and extracurricular events throughout the year which are organized by student committees. The infrastructure, high quality intellectual capital, vast experience in academics and enterprise management laced with strong moral and ethical values Additionally many guest faculties from highly recognized universities are invited throughout the duration of a course to guide and provide a better perspective to the students. Students are encouraged to present research papers outside the college and to participate in extracurricular events. The Continuing Education Cell of college prepares the students in various skill development activities while the Career Guidance Cell counsels the students on the career path they should choose.
