G. H. Patel College of Engineering and Technology, located at Bakrol road, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujrat was named after the late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel -- the 'Iron Man of India’ has over the last fifty years been developed into a well-known seat of learning. The educational township was established in 1946. A plot measuring over 1,80,000 square feet has been allocated for constructing the main college building with a total built-up area of about 2,00,000 square feet.
GCET is managed by Charutar Vidya Mandal, or CVM, a registered charitable trust established in 1945. Today CVM manages 40 educational institutions in Vallabh Vidyanagar and its satellite township new Vallabh Vidyanagar established by CVM in 2000. GHPCET has modern buildings with airy classroom, well-equipped laboratory, workshops, and separate hostel for boys and girls with an organized mess. The Library resources stand at about 18,131 volumes of books, and back- volumes of periodicals,
CD, audiocassettes, thesis and standards. The journal subscription goes beyond 100. 7 wireless routers have been used for extensive network coverage.
With the aim to equip students with the latest engineering skills and knowledge to successfully meet the challenges posed by globalization and to provide comprehensive engineering education and necessary technical skills by developing a professional outlook in every walk of life. On this campus, more than twenty thousand students pursue academic programs in many different disciplines.
