Gulbarga University is a state University established by an Act of State Government of Karnataka" under section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The university encourages students with outstanding merit by providing them opportunities, incentives and facilities to excel. The university imparts educational training and research in the areas of Engineering, Technology, Medicine, Applied Sciences, Management and Agriculture as major thrust areas. The university offers conventional as well as industry related and job oriented structured programmes at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research level.
Gulbarga University offers various Diplomas, Degrees and Integrated programmes in the areas mentioned above at its main campus located in the state of Gulbarga and at the other Campuses/Study Centres located in different parts of the country and abroad. Gulbarga University accords top priority to the placement of graduates and postgraduates in various sectors of the country. A separate cell has been created to look after this vital function. The placement cell functions as an independent responsible unit. Apart from the placement activities, the cell strives to promote co-ordination with industry to assess the industrial requirements. Various programmes offered by the university and instruction delivery methodology are governed by the vision of the governing body and academic council consisting of experienced and renowned academicians. The University provides courses as regular, distance study, correspondence, and e-learning methods.
