Computer aided management is management that utilizes information and communication technology in business and economy. The postgraduate diploma in computer aided management is open to students who have completed graduation in commerce, business management, or related disciplines. It is offered by premier institutes, such as IIM (Calcutta) and is usually a two-year programme. Admission criteria include the results of common entrance tests for management, such as CAT/GMAT/GRE, group discussion, and a personal interview.
The course usually includes the study of core modules in business and information technology, such as economics, organizational behavior, finance and accounting, management control, marketing, human resource management, information systems, and quantitative methods. In the second year students can choose from various electives in these core subjects. The course is highly hands-on and in addition to project work and presentations, it also includes training of up to 10 weeks in a managerial capacity.
