A postgraduate, super-specialty course in medical science, the Master of Surgery or MS is offered in areas such as anatomy, ENT, general surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Candidates who have completed their MBBS and are registered with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Councils are eligible for this course. The syllabus differs based on the specialization, however, all the courses are application-oriented and students work in the medical college or hospital as junior resident doctors. After completing the course they can join the university as faculty members, take up individual practise, or join hospitals, speciality clinics, and nursing homes.
