Colleges in Kota

Kota is situated in the lap of a unique cultural state, Rajasthan. Besides this, Kota is also an industrial hub of northern India as many chemical, engineering and power plants are constructed here. This city is nation wide famous for having the highest number of institutes that trains the students to crack Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) entrance exam, the hardest of all.
Since Kota is the hub to train aspiring engineers to appear the IIT entrance exam it is expected to have an IIT to its name but ironically there is none. Indian Government had approved of providing Kota with an IIT but was later scratched off for some reason. Instead the Government compensated and announced in 2011 to start an Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). Nonetheless, some excellent engineering colleges do exist in Kota Engineering College, Presidency College of Engineering, R N Modi College of Engineering and Gurukul institute of information & Technology to name a few are there in Kota. Government Medical College & Hospital is the only medical institute in Kota while Daswani Dental College & Research Center is the only dental college. There are various other colleges belonging to the stram of arts, commerce and law in Kota.
