This one-year course is open to all students who have completed undergraduate studies and have an interest in global markets and foreign trade. Admission usually involves an admission test and interview. Students should approach respective institutes for the admission criteria.
Like all one-year courses, the Post Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade is divided into two semesters. The syllabus includes modules on managerial economics, international economics, international logistics, quantitative methods, principles of marketing and management, foreign exchange management, international marketing, international financial management, export-import procedures, and India’s export-import policies. Students are also required to take up the study of one foreign language. The course involves hands-on project work and presentations. At the end of the programme, students can seek employment with export-import companies, consultancies, banks, multinational companies, as well as public sector enterprises that deal with foreign trade.
