The postgraduate diploma in computer application (PGDCA) is a one-year course open to all students who have completed undergraduate studies and have an interest in computer applications and programming. Admission is usually based on merit; however, different institutes may have their own eligibility criteria. The syllabus covers office applications, database, LAN and internet, programming, and web designing. Modules include fundamentals of computers information technology, operating systems, PC packages, programming with visual basic.net, e-commerce and system analysis and design. Students can also choose from electives on FoxPro, MS Access, programming with C++, and financial accounting with tally. The course is mainly practical and involves large amounts of work in computer laboratories.
