A two-year postgraduate programme in computer management, the Master of Computer Management or MCM is a specialized course in software applications catered to meet the needs of the burgeoning IT industry. MCM graduates can start their career as junior programmers and reach positions of senior programmers, system analysts, and project leaders. They can also take up employment in fields such as banking and finance, which require technical teams to support their commercial operations. Admission is based on undergraduate results as well as performance in a written test and personal interview. However, many institutes also accept the results of common entrance tests like the Management Aptitude Test, Common Admission Test, and National Aptitude Test. The syllabus covers mobile computing, information security, advanced Java, Linux, Oracle, web programming and e-commerce among other industry-related modules. It also includes regular practical and project work.
