Diploma in computer application
Unless specified as a postgraduate course, a diploma in computer application or DCA is open to students who have completed class 12 and are interested in computer programming and related fields. A two-year, full time programme it includes practical modules such as introduction to computers, principles of programming, programming language, database, work processing and spread sheet, system analysis and design, project management, Unix operating system, management information systems, financial accounting system, C++, computer graphics etc. Admission is generally based on a written test followed by an interview; however it may vary between institutes. Although a full-time course, in many instances this diploma can be pursued alongside the degree course. It’s worth inquiring with institutes if they allow such an arrangement.
