Masters of Mass Communication
A postgraduate course in mass communication, Masters of Mass Communication is a much sought after two-year programme for aspiring media professionals. Admission is open to all students who have completed their undergraduate education with a minimum of 50%. All prospective students need to appear for an entrance test and interview to be selected for the course.
The syllabus includes modules that cover various forms of journalism (print, electronic, and internet), audio-visual production (radio and TV production and film-making), related fields like public relations and advertising, as well as general communication modules (media management, media research, media law and self-regulation etc). Students can opt to specialize in whichever aspect interests them most. The course is highly hands on and includes intensive project work, industry interaction through workshops, seminars etc, and an internship programme. It’s extremely important for students to check the credentials of colleges before applying. The best institutes have experienced faculty, latest equipment, industry exposure, as well as a good placement record.
