Geography is the scientific study of lands, waters, their features and the phenomena of the earth & its impact upon inhabitants. It is a modern science that encompasses the studies of natural and human phenomena, places & regions & also the studies of earthly objects. The Geotechnical features of the interdisciplinary geography subject have divided the entire subject into three main categories where Geomatics has been given utmost importance. The word Geotechnical strictly refers to Topography, Cartography, Geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and Global positioning systems (GPS) as more evasive practical features to understand the true meaning of Geotechnicalities of the concerned subject Geomatics. Moreover, Geotechnical solely relies upon the practical use of Cartography, GIS and Remote Sensing procedure in recording geospatial information studies of any unknown tropical regions. The astute sub name of Geo technical is Integrated Geography. Thus, Geotechnical has become the tentative subject in exploring spatial information about our earth.
Different branches of Geography have been distributed among reputed Universities. In IITs you can study Cartography, Geographic information systems; remote sensing as in the name of Geotechnical etc. Since the subject demands ability to understand mathematics, physics and chemical science you can pursue B.Sc and M.Sc from any universities offering Geotechnical as specialization subject. Moreover, after obtaining valid certificate in Geotechnical you can work as geophysicist in any engineering enterprises to explore minerals for heavy industries. Other universities like Calcutta University, Delhi University, and Burdwan University offer BA, B.Sc, and MA in Geography only.
