Master of Management Studies
|
A two-year postgraduate course in management, Master of Management Studies or MMS is a specialized qualification that enables students to take up high level staff and research positions with companies and management firms. Unlike an MBA, which is more broad-based, MMS courses prefer candidates with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline. Admission criteria differ among colleges and students need to inquire on these in advance. However, most colleges would require students to appear for an entrance test and interview.
MMS students are trained in business communication, business mathematics, financial accounting, organization behaviour, managerial economics, information technology for managers, operations management, marketing management, financial management, human resource management, entrepreneurship management, services management, environment management and related disciplines. They can choose from a variety of niche electives in technology, human resources, finance, and marketing. The course also includes industry attachment and project work that exposes students to the working environment and prepares them for the job.
