Railway Training Institute is a training institute in Nairobi, Kenya. The Institute is affiliated by Kenya Methodist University. The Training Institute received ISo 9001:2008 certification for its infrastructure and academic excellence. It is governed by The Kenya Railways Corporation. The Kenya Railways Corporation was established by an Act of Parliament (Cap 397) of the Laws of Kenya, and commenced operations on January 20, 1978.
The overall mandate of the Corporation then was to provide a coordinated and integrated system within Kenya of rail and inland waterways transport services and inland port facilities. The Kenya Railways (Amendment) Act 2005 to make it possible for the Board of Directors to enter into concession agreements or other forms of management for the provision of rail transport services.
The Railway Training Institute provide students Workshop demonstrations, plant visits in relevant areas. Has the facilities of Excellent, lecture and conference rooms. State of the art information technology laboratories. Flexible training programmes. Qualified, experienced and well-disciplined staff. The Institute has Excellent performance both in National and International examinations.
The Institute has a well stocked and furnished library, well equipped labs, an arena for indoor and outdoor games and sports, separate hostels for boys and girls with all necessary facilities, well-furnished cottages for faculty, and wide open spaces.
